AREA Newsletter:
Periodically, AREA shall send out news bulletins to students to try to keep them informed of real estate law changes or industry developments/trends. If you do not receive notices periodically from AREA, please update your student record with the office so that AREA can keep you informed.
Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB):
The FREAB is headquartered in Orlando and consists of seven members. The FREAB administers and enforces the real estate appraiser license law, Chapter 475, Part II, Florida Statutes the board is also empowered to pass rules that enable it to implement its statutorily authorized duties and responsibilities. These rules are contained in Chapter 61J1, Florida Administrative Code. All appraisers in Florida should be familiar with the statute and rules, along with chapters 455, 215, 120, and 20, Florida Statutes, as well as the uniform standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
FREAB Meetings:
Licensees should attend these important regulatory meetings to better understand and become a part of the process. It is at these meetings that the rules governing real estate licenses are discussed and decided. All FREAB meetings are held at the Division of Real Estate Headquarters in Orlando, and
begin at 8:30 AM unless stated otherwise. Meeting dates are subject to change. Click here to view the list of upcoming dates.
